~ don't have fave sport, but play a variety, and went on about diff kind of sports he play
Or
~ don't like sports, prefer indoor stuff such as art and craft and reading and went on about his other hobbies

For stimulus conversation , how are kids graded ? Will they be penalize if they go on and on with stuff that deviate from the theme of the conversation ? Faint.....theme was road safety and was practising with my son about sharing an experience of breaking traffic rule and he said jay walking with Mum, stood in middle of the road to wait to cross, stood for five min and got bored. Corrected him that he should say he felt scare with all the cars zooming past. He said he didn't feel frightened as his mum was there. And he added frankly that his Mum said can only jay walk when she is with him :faint: :oops:

Writing email is something very similar to summary writing of what you have read from the passage.. or writing a diary on how you spent your day..


Ask your child to read the passage given carefully and capture the theme first. then summarize in his own words what happened.

The most important thing to take note is to capture the key points from passage. Also the purpose of writing email and the person it is addressed is to be noted carefully.

This was what the English HOD presented during my DD's MTP session...


For compo writing, the students will be given a topic to write on, eg.
\"Write a composition about a time you were praised for doing a kind act.\"

They will be given 3 pictures to help them eg.
Pic 1: It was raining, you saw an old lady falling down in front of you
Pic 2: Old lady now holding your umbrella, while you picked her things up
Pic 3: You were standing on stage, being praised by teacher/principal.

The compo should be based on at least one of the given pictures. Students
can choose to use 1, 2, or all 3 pictures. They will be given some helping
words.

For oral, it's called \"Stimulus-based conversation\".
Example given was pictures of different items with prices labelled next
to them. Items like soccer ball ($19), birthday cake ($12), book ($8), etc.
And the conversation topic will be stated below: \"Look at the picture.
Which of the items would you choose to buy as a birthday present for
your friend? Why?\"

That's what my DD's school will be doing. Not sure if it's the same for all.
