Hello mummies, I used to do flash cards for my boys, I personally think flash cards are very effective but you will not realized it until later, it is more like a seed sowing process and the growth/benefit is somewhat there, in a way that you as a mummy will come to realized how it has helps your child! 🙂

Their teacher encourage this because these days the children creative is bad. Most are all doing school home work and have no time to read, where are they going to get their creativity? I notice my kids also learn new words with the apps too. I think is important to select the right apps for kids.

Might I also suggest a few additional things? There are plenty of flashcard websites online and apps that you can make on your own, or if you don't like the work, you can take what others have shared on the website or app itself. Most of these are for teenagers to use for studying (I am a teen and therefore also use this) but can be adapted, such as creating your own flashcards (ie. uploading pictures and then inserting the appropriate words in).

Children nowadays also have a liking for technology (haha :)) Besides, the premium or subscription fee is probably a lot cheaper than buying the physical item. You can also make infinite flashcards with even accompanying sounds in some apps!

As a student I have used Quizlet and tinycards by Duolingo. Duolingo is also a great app and website for teaching kids new languages. Cheers!

May I know what is the difference between Glenn Doman and Shichida flashcard?

They are both flash cards but glenn doman has got specific size for their words and dots. Shichida is a standard A5 size and does not do encyclopedic details for pictures.

My kid was in Shichida but I took him out at age 4 as I felt the method was not suitable for him. I bought all the flashcards to work at home with it.
I believe flashcards do work but not for every child. My child did show some benefit from all the early training.
