Hi i am a new mum here and my girl is registering for primary school this year. Im struggling between west spring and chij lqop. Any kind souls to give advise or reviews?
West Spring seemed to have lost its popularity over the last 3 years and only balloted 1-2km last year in Phase 2C. Prior to that it is usually 2 to 3 times oversubscribed for those <1km.

CHIJ LQOP has never balloted in at least the last 5 years in Phase 2C, though it did require some balloting in 2020 and 2019.

I suggest you go visit the schools yourself and observe the kids at recess time, and talk to some of the teachers. That will definitely allow you to get a much more real-time view of the situation as you are registering this year.

Which school provides a better environment or more consistent PSLE results?
From what I heard, Bukit Timah Primary will have multi-racial environment similar to international school. Bukit Panjang Primary environment are more local environment and tends towards more academic.

Just got offer from CHIJ Lady Queen of Peace few weeks ago and decided to accept it until we received a call from Bukit Panjang Primary today about vacancy for my daughter. There’s no data on that. We can safely say >95% are within 1km as schools will call those >1km to withdraw probably

I am considering between Beacon and Bukit Panjang Primary.

As I know, BPPS is known to be the popular school, and strong academically. However, from their website, can’t tell much except the impression that they are a more traditional school? Beacon seems interesting in their "future looking" activities, which I think is useful for the new generation economy. I hear comments about having to lug laptop to school everyday, and that the teachers are young and less experienced.

Bukit Panjang usually ballot <1km, West Spring recently also ballot <1km. West View safe for 2C/2CS.

Believe the few schools in the area are comparable, except for BPPS more standout for academic performance. WSP is definitely harder to get in, Phase 2C has been super popular for 2-3 years already. While Greenridge will almost guarantee a place for the kid.

West Spring Primary is still a relatively new school, having its first batch of Primary 6 this year. Hence, there should not be any score available for it.

I have a few questions here that hopefully some mummies can help to answer.

1) Does BPPS conduct any open house? If yes, usually when? I'm thinking of bringing my little one to visit the school before registration begins in June.

2) Does BPPS allow students to keep some of their books in school? Or need to bring a heavy school bag everyday?

3) How is the canteen food like? Healthy choices or mostly junk food? (I have heard some school canteen serving a lot of processed food and sweet packet drinks)

4) How does the teachers communicate with parents? Via communication book or whatapps or other apps platforms?

5) How is the school management?
