<![CDATA[What's with COEs nowadays?]]>Cat A COE has hit $92,100. Cat B is $96,210 and Open is $96,101.


What's the matter with COEs nowadays? No, I don't mean why has Cat A COE reached $91,000. My question is why is Cat B and Open Category COE so cheap compared to Cat A COEs?

If I have to pay $92,100 for the COE of an entry level BMW, I might just as well plonk down $50,000 more for a 5 series. Seriously, those entry level Beamers and Mercs are tiny and hardly a status symbol. Not to mention I know several multi-millionaires who have no qualms buying second hand.

Something strange is going on... Who are the ones who die die must buy a brand new Cat A car?

LTY said car population has to be controlled...encouraging public transport.
But then, MRT lines keep breaking down...how reliable can that be ???
Taking taxis also not cheap.
If govt wants us to use public transport, make taxis as easily available like in HKG...remove all those charges.

If prices of certain things are not increased, then you will see them shrunk and you will need to pay double because one portion is not sufficient. Son told me even his canteen food prices have increased…at this growing stage, he is constantly hungry.

Haha. You learnt fast![/quote]Go a few more showrooms, and you'll know almost all the tricks they'll use. What disappoints me, though, is the lack of product knowledge of these SEs now. They only need to be smooth talker, arm themselves with sales talks/gimmicks, throw in some fear-mongering skills, then can survive already (with some luck of course).

If you start asking them more about the car's features, specs (don't even talk about performance, handling, etc.), it is quite common to hear all sorts of completely unbelievable answers...

Funny, the news of more premium is released today. I believe dealers still can hold back some orders as not every deal is a one time guarantee coe.

The additional coes will only come after Christmas. Most dealers work on 6 bids Max, meaning can hold only 3 mth. Likely too late to wait for the 'bumper crop'...

So it is rich men's game, where the rich will buy more new expensive cars as they are launched…

Then either we hope the ADs for expensive cars do not find SGP attractive market so do not bring too many new models here, or hope there are not that many people here who are so rich, so this will pass quickly...
