Any reason to switch? My boy’s peers did very well under berries while mine experienced a switch from TH to WLC. Mine shared that both teachings are similar but lots of writing in WLC. He couldn’t tell me the reason why he chose WLC over TH even although he disliked the writing part and often couldn’t finish his work on time for quite a long period of time after he joined. My observation was the teachers were more passionate in teaching. And the only advantage in WLC is that it is Sec levels classes, thus his peers in berries will have to source for new place for tuition after P6.
Mine was supposed to continue WLC but I didn’t let him because the centres are all not near us, plus limited class timings for sec levels. We struggled in going to the centre for past few years. 😥

I am now looking at sec classes in Beijing and HCL or any good centres but no feedback on them. 😭
The reason to change is I realized that my boy don’t really recognize or remember most of the words. The homework is minimal though a good thing but it didn’t give my boy the push that he needs. Some words he can recognize but unable to write them, I’m concern about his writing part especially.

I am really in a big dilemma. My child is K1 this year. And She has gone for both Tien Hsia and Berries Trial. At Hougang Berries Branch and Kovan’s Tien Hsia Branch.

Both seems fairly fine. But I still having trouble deciding which school should I put her in.

Can you guys tell me how is the reviews and opinions for both comparison? Wanna weigh the pros and cons.

My P4 DS is weak in handling Chinese comprehension OE type questions. Does TH teach how to answer different type of OE type questions and do they cover this type of question weekly

Hi, we've attended their holiday program (Compre) last year. Typically TH - they do TRY to cover different techniques, handouts are neat; but not sufficient meat+explanations to make it worthwhile. Wouldn't recommend.

I feel that Tien Hsia allocates too much time going through the textbooks. In the end, the teachers always do not have enough time to go through the worksheets.

Also, there are certain structures set by MOE regarding the Comprehension questions but Tien Hsia doesn't seem to follow these structures. Its Comprehension passages are quite difficult, too.

好词好句 provided by them are good, though.

Guess due to time constraints, not enough time to cover everything.
