Currently my ds is using the phone card but I find that it used up fast and have to keep on topping it.

Thus, appreciate any recommendation for student plan that is reasonable.

Together with mobile broadband for myself and internet access at home, I have more than 4 M1 services to my household, so we are entitled to 35% discount off the mobile phone bill. So the voice plan which originally costs about $26 becomes $16 plus after a 35 % discount, with free incoming full day, unlimited SMS. Also, if you have 3 M1 mobile numbers, these numbers can call each other for free.

My kids use the pre-paid card $18 ones and they are told they have to monitor their usage and make sure it lasts 2 months. I believe in teaching them to be responsible about phone usage and spending money on phone use. I see teens sms-ing, twittering, facebooking all the time and I wonder how they will learn the art of having face-to-face conversation this way.

Post-paid will only come perhaps post-secondary school.

Actually I paid $17 at a neighbour hood shop(etopup). It caps the usage and encourage responsible usage but the only problem is you must remember to top up after 30 days, otherwise the roll over will be gone!
this plan is cheap but \"ma fan\" must remember to top up every month. Is it from M1?

I pay Singtel youth plan with unlimited SMS for my boys at $39.90/month.

No, different number....but in same bill. another thing is the 2nd number does not enjoy phone set upgrade

Singtel have a \"Red\" plan that rides on a another mobile line plan. its $12 a month plus $5 for caller-ID. The usage and SMS rides on the main line entitlement......
