So think carefully if you wanna stay in this kind of environment as a 12 raw score holder. Not discriminating or judging, but an environment full of people who are really good in their subjects and score all A's in their tests might make you feel very inferior, pressured and stress you even more. Also, distance is an important factor to consider if your parents do not send you to school as the travelling will waste a lot of time.

Anyway, I'm sure i just repeated information you already knew of when you applied for AJC

All the best to your appeal!

Thank you! I am pretty sure about my choice. I initially wanted to stay on for AJC Arts but my parents were adamant on me appealing to Science or to a JC nearer to home (JJC). Not that I mind Arts stream.

For this year, some of those who put AJC Science as a second choice and have similar scores as I do are not accepted into JC. So I just sort of /try my luck/. I guess the COP was 8 partial for those who put AJC Science as second choice.

I do agree that the school environment is really promoting competitiveness. But I guess that's what fueled me to work hard thru sec 4 because with a stressful environment, I managed to get 12 points (even though it's not a single pointer). My prelims l1r5 was a crazy 24 points. So I guess I'll need AJC's environment.

Anyway, thank you theNSKlor for your input!

nachira

Reply to Appeal Enquiry on Sun, 03 Feb 2013 03:05:00 GMT

nachira:
Hi all. Chance question cannot be answered, I think it would be meaningless to you if a figure 60% or 40% is given to you.

2. 6 Feb? It really depends on school an you have to check their websites for submission of appeals and releasing of the result. For example, NJC appeal submission must be done by 1 Feb noon and only postive outcome will be delivered to the applcants via phone call by 2 Feb noon.

3. Usually a JC do not accept a student to change stream from art to science. If you do not want to learn art, you should not even put it as one of the 12 choices.

FrekiWang
