How about France / Switzerland?

I was told there are visa requirements for European countries but work permit holders will NOT be granted a visa to enter the EU.

Based on the following info from Asiaone.com, seems like the above mentioned visa allows them to enter into 15 European countries.

It can only be issued by the German embassy after approval from authorities in Germany, and applications can take up to two months to process, for a fee of $130.

I found the same visa application form from the Germany Embassy's website and decided to call them.
That's how i found out that maids on work permit pass in SG will NOT be granted the visa. 😞

Once you are into the schengen area, the borders are virtually porous. I wonder if one could find a port of entry that were less strict in granting visas? Or is it a common unified criteria and platform?

Wow appreciate if you can share that port of entry!

from my research, it seems that the visa requirements for the countries under the EU to be uniform .... so i guess if the German embassy turns down maid applications here in SG as work permits, so will the rest.

NEVERTHELESS i shall call and ask the other embassies just in case i was given the wrong information at the German embassy!
