<![CDATA[How many of your kids DID NOT have a 1 week break?]]>My kids had lots of homework. We only managed to bring them out for a movie on Friday.


I thot MOE has said that schools must allow kids to have their hols. OR did I read wrongly? :scratchhead:

As for homework, a bit is ok.. excessive homework with no one to guide is better w/o.
read in today's ST forum about parents having different ideas about homework.

i will not write letters to allow my kids to skip school, however i feel that kids should enjoy their hard-earned school holiday...even if not the entire period, at least 3-4 days for March/Sep, 2 weeks for June for example.

but one point he mentioned 'the teachers in school are more than qualified to help their children' is something i do not quite agree with...they are qualified teachers, but not all are responsible...this is the reason why we need tutors...bcos there is a proper system in place with a tutor.

DS said he wanted to learn to fish so we spent the rest of the week fishing. We went nite fishing and moon gazing at the same time on eve of Good Friday and hit the sea again with his dad kayaking along the east coast the next day !!!

Of course we also keep our routine workbook practises so as not to slack but overall he had a good break I said...with a good healthy tan (^.^)
You could have brought along the workbook during the fishing trip...make full use of the waiting time 😆

:scared: didnt have book club back then leh...
was in the BAND!!! 3x a week!! Saturdays training was from 8.30/9am (can't remember) to 5pm. would borrow instrument (and music stand) home and went on and on on Sundays. but still...CCA points only B4 nia because not leadership post. 🤷

It's more like for parents and kids to take stock of what happened in the previous semester, and to get ready for SA1. My kids went to their favorite Science Centre and watched the Panda show at the Omnimax, partly to have some fun, and partly to fulfil my P2 daughter's \"holiday assignment\" of preparing a Show & Tell of what she did during the holidays. :faint:


Anyway, we were all busy doing housework as our maid went back for her vacation in Philippines for 3 weeks. So we had fun doing house cleaning, sweeping & mopping floors, ironing clothes, killing bugs, etc.

So besides his tuition, we took him to Ubin to cycle & catch crabs on Monday…we went for drumming workshop on tues, wed & thurs. Cannot believe that I can play the drums too.

I think it happens to most sec sch than pri students. Most of her classmates still need to go back 2 to 5 times for CCA.

i remembered i last time sch holidays also need to go back frequently for CCA...and i enjoyed it very much! stay at home also nothing to do. 🙂
