Did not occur to me when we had our 2nd rental property which was jointly owned that I need to declare 50/50 especially since I am managing all the rental income/expenses. It was only 3 years ago when I was talking to my accountant about dividend declaration and other tax matters that I was told it should be 50/50 since it is jointly owned. Had a hard time explaining to DH but in the end, it did not affect the tax bracket that he was in so he stopped grumbling.</p>
