hihi! I have just paid deposit last saturday to enrol my boy to their playgroup at the yishun branch. I simply love that place.

firstly, its very huge and well organized. they have about 20 teachers in total, i can see a variety of activities and craftworks nicely displayed by the kids. playgroup itself have 4 classes and its 1:8 ratio with an assistant teacher that will assist when its meal/outdoor/bathing time. individual portable cot for each child, no blanket needed to minimize passing of germs. aircon is only turned on during nap time.

secondly, there is a neighbourhood outdoor playground beside the building, which is about 5mins walk under blk, if bad weather :gloomy: , they have indoor gym.

thirdly, as for HFMD, they only have one case of it for the whole 2014.

also, they have a very interesting menu, 3 meals a day. everyday different food, expose child to different kind of flavour and texture.

current sch fee is $980 before subsidy.

during the 1st orientation tour, my son already dun wanna leave the place. -.-\" 2nd visit when making deposit, he alr feeling comfortable and climbing up their sofa, sending flying kisses to the teachers.

kids are the best evidence whether they like the place or not, and also the 1st interaction i get to see between the teacher and my son. :imcool:

-very approachable staff, person I/c-Ruby was very detailed in her guiding of me about the centre and answering my queries, Teacher Sham is passionate, the director was humble and friendly, the other teachers look happy and at ease with kids, no raising of voices heard.
-happy kids! Laughing and cheery throughout the centre. A nice warm feel to the place. A centre can't be wrong when you see many curious, excited and happy little ones. That's their best advertisement.
-clean environment
-aircon turned off for the room closest to toilet for bath time where children gets undressed and wrapped tightly in their bath towel before each child trots over to the warm bathroom for bath. Very well thought of.
-place is huge!

A few nagging thoughts:
-fees a little on high side, in fact plus the enrichment course, will be comparable to more \"reputable\" centers like LV ($700ish after subsidy)
-curriculum is less academically inclined, intro of spelling only in K2, nearer to end of year just to get students a feel of how it is like. Good and bad 🙂
-higher ratio of teacher to students

Overall, very impressed with EB@yishun. Sending my child for toddler class in 2013 Feb. 🙂

There are many rooms for improvement. For instance, I witnessed a toddler kid crying on his own unattended in a room with dangerous wyre connected to a hot water dispenser within kids reach. Am also disturbed by the reply I received from one of the teachers when I raised my concern about it. The reply was: it wont happen cos so far no kids has tried to reach the wyre. Other side issues: the ongoing HFMD they are experiencing and kids supervision before 9am.Would appreciate if any other mums can share abt their experience with the teachers as I am having mix feelings abt this centre.

Their rising fees from $830 to $860 per month, their soon to be implemented 7% GST, the upcoming construction works around the area deters me from enrolling my child into the CC.
