Too troublesome to bring for family of 5. Also, most trips are for up to 2 weeks, and i cannot imagine not changing towels for so long. And no way i will trouble myself to launder them during a vacation.


But when I went to Algeria on my business trip, I brought my own as the hotels there are at best 3 star if not less by international standard. So if we are only staying 3 star hotels, I’ll probably bring my own.

When you travel, do you bring your towel or use hotel's towel?

What if you travel with family? 1 towel each?
For the kid, I would bring his towel. For adults, Depends on where we stay. If five stars hotels, then we would use their towels.

If we need to bring towels for whatever reasons, I would pack old towels. Upon check out, they are thrown away.

I also want to bring our own towels but the thought of having 4 towels and wet towels, especially when we move from one hotel to another, really put me off.

On the other hand, I remember many years ago when we were staying in a 3-4 stars hotel, the hotel manager came to our room to say that the room below us complaining the toilet leaking. So he took the towels and threw on the floor to stop the water from flowing down!!

This question reminded me of a colleague. When we were in US, he bought alot of towels as he said it is very expensive in his home country (european countries)… He was grabbing all those ralph lauren towels which is very reasonably priced in US. But towels are very bulky and he ended up with 2 big luggage of just towels…

Too much luggage for family travel. and packing wet towels is not nice :sick:

When i was single, i would take a thin towel for my own use.

But as far as possible i use my own when I go to the gym. I was horrified when I saw how some members use the towel like putting on the floor and standing on it while dressing. :faint:
