HI all! Got mine from Dominic Decker Wholesale(http://www.ddwholesale.com.sg). Apparently they have a new foldable version N95 mask by 3M for kids/children which is easier to breathe. Tried and proven! No complaints so far. They used to hate the putting on the masks before but now i even got them to wear to sleep during the hazy nights (aircon does not filter the finer particles).

They have child sizes and fit comforatbly. We paid a bit more for the version with carbon filter and valve, no regrets, my kid never pulled it off. The design/mask shape quite cool so our children all very excited to look like ninja.
Anyway, i found out they are now in Singapore (i got mine from US) so go google them!

Model 8210 can filter particles from toilet cleaning agent? I read only cannot filter oily liquid. Those anti bacterial spray for toilet is not oily, right?

The \"smell\" from chemical cleaning agent is probably due to chlorine or ammonia gas. Unless you spray until a lot of fine mist.. then, there may be droplets of the cleaning liquid floating around.

The mask filter particles ONLY. It does nothing to the toxic gases. Nothing can stop the gases from passing thru the mask. If it does, then the air you breath in cannot get thru either. It can, however, block the droplets or mist, if there is any.

To remove toxic gases, an absorbent such as activate charcoal is required.

How it works is it will absorb the toxic gases thus preventing it from being inhaled.

u gt to check out 3M's nuisance level acid gas mask to filter out sulphur dioxide that the haze has.

DISCLAIMER: for this round of haze, and from the readings I have checked on NEA site, the amount of SO2 in the air is not dangerous to human health. But still, if you can, get a mask that can filter the acid gas to be safe.

depends on what is ur that toilet cleaning agent and check. most likely alkaline since it should be soapy? then nothing to do with mask as I dun think any mask filter off such particles.

8210 only filters off dust and viruses. anything else you gt to check 3M catalog.

I called 3M this morning, tel 64508818 and spoke to a Ms. Soo Li.

According to her, 210088 has expired. 911013 is mfd 2011.

She will be checking with her Mktg colleague on what recourse I can get since I still keep the Cold Storage receipt.

Most likely she will say, can keep for 5 years, so not expired yet.. :evil:

So the only way to check is to call 3M? Can ask them how to check by ourselves? If expiry date matters, they should make it transparent to customers.

I'm wondering what is the optimal number of masks per person.
Don't wanna over stock yet don't want to be not prepared.
Firstly, we have to see how long a mask can be used before we should discard to decide on number to stock.

Based on common sense judgement. It depends on how much you talk while wearing the mask. More talking means more saliva from the mouth gets on the mask. That means more bacteria.

It also depends on how much exposure you are to the haze and how bad the haze it. If you find discomfort in breathing, the mask is probably choked with particles, time to change.
