ANA or JAL]]>was pleasantly surprised that ANA is really good when I wanted to ride on its cheap fare to NRT 2 years ago. forgot to bring my milk bottle teat and couldn’t feed baby on board at night…the Jap flight attendant was so attentive to our family and offered us a new glass Pigeon milk bottle with rubber teat for free. She even helped me to sterilise the teat and bottle using hot water and warmed up my baby’s milk at night and in the morning (it was an overnight flight). Food was surprisingly yummy…Service, need me to elaborate? Confirmed excellent, cos it’s mostly Jap attendants. Will certainly travel on ANA again:)

Their legroom/recline/IFE are quite similar and food/service really depends on individual preference (and luck).


Domestically, it’s a toss-up and depending on your luck which aircraft is being dispatched.

Garuda has lots of accidents they do not report.

Best economy class 2013 - ANA is ranked top 5 and JAL is not among the top 10.
Best Econ class Seat 2013 - JAL is ranked top 6 whereas ANA is ranked top 8.
