Therefore, all meat(including fish) was out .I fed him only porridge with vegetable eg carrot, potato. After 2 weeks, pork and fish can be added. And for the 100 days within him getting chicken pox, \"toxic\" food like chicken, eggs, seafood was avoided.

Another food you can give is yogurt. A healthy digestive tract is the first key to having a healthy body. And if you don't mind the yucky factor, yogurt can also be applied directly on the lesions as it also has anti bacterial properties.

For cooling water, i just boiled barley water for him to drink. For vit c, i relied on giving him squeezed orange and carrot juice instead as he's too young to eat multi vits at 1 yo. Besides, i feel freshly squeezed juices are better than vit c tables.

Hmm, i can't remember the brand of baking soda i got. I just took the one which stated pure baking soda as i'm concerned \"unpure\" baking soda may contain ingredients that may irritate. Don't quite recall there's much bubbling in the water though.

For vit E cream, can get from GNC. Nature Farm may have it too. I personally prefer cream as it's easier to spread and less messy than oil.:)

poppyqueen

Reply to Chicken Pox on Sun, 25 Sep 2011 16:31:49 GMT

Hi poppyqueen,

like to know which brand of Vit E cream u use. By right, a person is considered as not contagious once the pox dried up (supposedly 10 to 14days?), but now that she scratched all of them until they are scars, there is no pox left for me to know if her pox has dried up and that she is no longer contagious. He came out healthy with beautiful skin and Apgar Score of 10. Thank God!

It was a terrible experience. Fever for 2 weeks, temp up to 40 deg. Hubby took care of me day and night. During pregnancy, suppose to take heaty food but I couldn’t. There were a lot of conflicting food for CP and pregnancy. So in the end I do it my own way and took a lot of celery and carrot juice daily. Perhaps that’s why ds loves to eat vege now and has perfect eyesight in his teens.

For ladies who are preparing to conceive, perhaps they want to get vaccinated. You really don’t want to get CP during pregnancy. At 18 weeks, baby can be at risk.
