Delays expected at checkpoints over Hari Raya, National Day weekend


SINGAPORE - Traffic flow through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas is expected to be heavy next week over the Hari Raya and National Day public holidays.

The Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) has advised travellers to expect delays from the eve of theholidays on Aug 7 (Wednesday) until Aug 11 (Sunday). Where possible, travellers should also adjust their travel plans.

The ICA is also advising travellers who are driving to help ease congestion at the checkpoints by maintaining lane discipline at all times. Usage of car-pool and public transport is also encouraged during the peak period.
Singaporeans issued with the BioPass or registered with the National Registration Office are encouraged to use the enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System (eIACS) lanes at the bus halls for swift clearance.

Travellers are also reminded to ensure that they are carrying their own passports before presenting themselves for immigration clearance at the checkpoints for clearance efficiency.

Before departure, travellers may visit LTA's One Motoring website (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg), call the traffic information hotline at 6863-0117 or listen to TrafficWatch on the radio for traffic updates

Work place people all lao-kok-kok oredi har, so all just wait in front of TV set on the actual day evening to celebrate, liddat tio don't have half day off lor... :imanangel:

Half day for our Muslim friends is probably a goodwill gesture by your company. :rahrah:

Well.. I think we shall abort our JB trip.. Didn't think of the jam :stupid:
Probably let hubby plan some outdoor activities + spend time with our parents πŸ˜‰

Normally we went in via 2nd link ard 7+ no jam...
Tiking of legoland, or just malacca... on d way back can still drop by premier outlets look see look see..
