Scrabble. Especially when you allow the use of a dictionary, because that is how you learn new words while having fun. #2 would be chess.

Agreed! I actually think games related to important skills like languages/ math should be encouraged.
I think higher level thinking games are also quite good like bridge!

Yeah, I also limit my sonโ€™s screen time. Hard to find other activities to keep him occupied. When heโ€™s finished with his toys and books, will pester me to play UNO cards or board games with him.

Maybe you can check with your neighborhood CC or library? Some times they have carrom or board games in their storeroom for loan. If he loans them, maybe other kids see will join in.
