It was here I came to know of UFE by Dr Toh…and after speaking with Dr Toh I decided to give it a go…Thanks again ngl

Has it been changed now? Have the gynaes started to recommend UFE to their patients? That is good if they do.


UFE is not a surgery. The radiologist just made a little incision (about 1 cm) on my thigh and then put in a catheter to deliver agents to block the blood supply to my fibroid. I don’t think it can be considered as surgery at all. I consider it as a procedure. Just like endoscopy or colonoscopy but need to stay in the hospital for 1 night. The next day the incision was only covered by a plaster. There is no scar at all after a couple of weeks.

The reason I went for UFE was I was mostly asymptomatic but my fibroids were growing rapidly and my gynae suggested a uterus removal.

Post UFE I seem to be having these occassional stomach cramps.. that lasts for a min.. not so.bad as I have to take a pain killer..
It will be a month this 22nd since the procedure..
Is this a normal experience post UFE?

Hi Fally, it is Dr Toh Kok Hong from Mt Elizabeth. He is a diagnostic radiologist so he doesn't have a clinic like normal specialists do ('cos he works in imaging room). One mummy from KSP told me she had a hard time finding him...
