That is not \"matching\". That is called \"tit-for-tat\" or \"retaliation\".

So, Singapore govt may still decide to \"match\", because the Malaysian \"tit-for-tat\" has not yet been \"matched\".

If the Malaysian levy was meant to match the S$35 imposed on non-Singapore cars by LTA, they should be charging RM50 (actually RM100 ) on non-Singapore cars entering Singapore from Johor.

Otherwise, it is not \"matching\". How can it be \"matching\" if it is not even collected from the same people?

Since MY do not have any VEP system, they could only tweak the Toll charges until they put their own VEP system into operation.

But I must admit the $35, a 75% increase from $20 is rather steep! Can't blame them for taking retaliatory action.
I think malaysian cars still get 10 entries to SG per year foc and weekends are also foc...

Public holidays and school holidays are Foc also. Will our neighbor do the same?

For those who want to getaway, can look South. Maybe they will build a bridge to Batam. Or better still, get more activities going at Ubin.

Human nature never fails to amaze me. They want our money but our presence is despised. We wear a condescending attitude because of our strong dollar. We believe they will suffer if we visit less. They threaten to milk us just because they say we can afford it. Cannot figure this out.
