Of which 75 boys and 25 girls, there about.

The first batch of 100 P4 pupils were posted to Rosyth School and Raffles Girls' Primary in 1984: 69 boys to Rosyth School and 31 girls to Raffles Girls' Primary.

One of DD's friend found the papers easy, but wasn't selected after 2nd round. DD found the papers hard - she got in. There can be lots of variations how the questions may be phrased, in ways that you do not normally see in our usual mainstream exercises. But the answers are to be shaded on the OAC. That itself hasn't changed since I last had it in 1984. And, no, I didn't get selected into the programme.

You're too humble. Your time it was the top 0.25% who got selected. Now that percentage has risen to around 1.5%. And that time, there was no age adjustment, so if one was born in the later part of the year, hard luck.

Btw, junior said there were fill-in-the-blanks for Eng.

My son was selected for 2nd round in P3 this year. :rahrah: I agreed now with some parents, never doubt his abilities. I did not really prepare him for first round but just did some practice for Math since dates were near his CA2. But now start to worry :slapshead: cos do not know what is general ability test? Can anyone describe more? related to Science, IQ or EQ? Pls help!

GAT has an eng and math part. English type of questions were like scrambling of letters, letters patterns and logical thinking. I remember dd said there are examples to demonstrate what they are testing. There was this lemon and chilli example, followed by the question if sharks are cars, then what's ocean. Something like that. Sorry, that's all she could recall.

Same here. However, he took it quite a number of years ago.
He said there're blanks to be filled in for EL paper. No helping words are given. When I asked him further, he said he has forgotten.
Or, there might be changes through the years.

I wasn’t too hopeful - only started observing this forum thread just days before the final announcement. Then came the agonising decision making and convincing, coz DD couldn’t bear to leave her friends and lovely teachers and principal. She still misses the colourful and fresh-smelling toilets back in her old school…

yes this is for the GEP selection 2013, and those kids selected or not selected already in P4. I supposed if you have questions for the “过来人” or the experienced parents, then this could be resource and surely the parents would love to share their experiences of the selection or perhaps even the kids' journey in P4 GEP or MS.

But if you are just generally discussing about the GEP selection of this year 2014, the other thread would be more appropriate as most \"current\" parents would be reading that thread.
