Not every school got such amazing shows and tells. <br /><br /><br />So far, Dses go do their show and tell as is - no props, not much prep. I used to have to see Ds prepare a text and then make sure he recall. These days, for DS2 school, the ch show and tell involves a piece of paper where most of the text is already in and kids just fill in the blanks - so that is easy. Don’t recall Ds2 having to do Eng show and tell these days, but he just had a poetry recitation. <br /><br />Sorry, I am lazy parent and Ds school also dun ask for such effort (or maybe I am just ignorant), so we don’t go all out for that few marks extra.</p>

I think this is the plus point, must have tools so that your child will stand out in his presentation among his peers.</blockquote></blockquote>Very impressive, must have spent quite some time preparing for this presentation by both parents and child. <br />For busy working parents, using PowerPoint (decorated nicely by student with relevant pictures and attached with a video) should be sufficient. I think the teachers are looking for how the child presents the topic with fluent sentences, good ideas, vocabulary and confidence. My girls did that themselves and still got full marks.
