Oh Hi everyone! I m new here. After briefly reading through some of the posts here, I think I have missed out much. I really admire parents who put in so many hours in PV. I m just plain too lazy. I register my girl for P1 next year in my alma mater. Didn't really bother to find out about the changes in the school. Sometimes I feel like a terrible mummy.[/i]

Do u stay within 1km of St Nicks? If yes, u may still be subjected to balloting and ur place is not guaranteed. Are u willing to take the risk? If you are staying out of 1km, then u can forget about St Nicks and just retain ur place at CHIJ Katong.

So now those staying in Pulau Ubin can forget about RGPS liao.


With my daughter confirmed a place for P1 next year, I can breathe easier and don’t have to sweat over this issue.
However for parents registering next year, I wish you best of luck too. This year is definitely an experience and something for all to learn from. Please have reliable back-up schools.

BPPS is a good school, good luck to you! I m need to see the no.of vacancies left after 2A2 in NYPS, before I can decide.. risk is very high! So if not, will try HPPS, hopes either plan will work for me.

You can apply to be on wait list for your child. Do bear in mind that there are other parents who apply and selection is based on the school, such as those who did PV or kids who have got some medal.

There will be always be vacancies for reasons like what Pen88 mentioned. So don't lose hope ok ? :xedfingers: My son tells me he has new classmates every year...BTW, my friend just left S'pore bringing her 2 kids (P4 and P5) to Canada to start a new life there.

Wait-list means school will approach those on wait-list only when they have vacancies. Thru'out the year, there are kids moving house (thus changing school) or migrating (due to parents out-station etc.), School will call up those on wait list when they have vacancies. However, note though most schools will give parents volunteer or those who have contributed to their school higher priority on wait list. Also, sometimes there are really no vacancies after a long while.

U can check directly from the school as they will display all the names being balloted on a notice board before going for work tomorrow. They would even showed u which number your child being balloted. πŸ˜„

From MOE's website

46.What if I am still not able to obtain a place for my child at the end of registration at Phase 2C Supplementary?

There are two alternatives, you can request MOE to post your child to a school which still has vacancies after Phase 2C Supplementary or you can register your child at a school which still has vacancies at Phase 3. Registration at Phase 3 will be done on a first-come-first-served basis.
