My girl is 4+, very prompt to cough.
She had been on western medicine but the cough will come back after awhile. Few days ago, I bought her to see a new PD, she told me she has Asthma as the doc heard whizzing when she coughs and prescript her the inhaler… I am very reluctant to use it and wanted to get 2nd opinion, at the same time to look for Chinese physician to help to build up her health. Any one has good doc or TMC to recommend? Thank you very much.

My dad has been seeing Dr Sean Ng from the Ardmore Orthopaedic Clinic routinely to get treatment for his RA and so far his regimen has been effective in managing symptoms. Definitely recommend seeing a doctor for joint pains at least just to rule out more serious health conditions.

my mother-in-law and I both suffer from RA and I feel your frustration. Try out Heritage TCM Clinic. Went there a few times through friend recommendation since she told me that the physician (Dr Tan) can speak both fluent English and Chinese so I'm not lost in translation.

After a few sessions, my symptoms are a lot more manageable now, and the pain is a lot more bearable that I'm able to squat and stand back up with little issues. Climbing stairs is better now. The same goes for my MIL - she can get up from her chair more smoothly.

Hi, there is a TCM at Joo Chiat Road which specialises in orthopaedics, have been around for many years. Ong Fujian Chinese Physician Hall. They are mainly professors and medical doctors, so quite a mixture.

Yes I hv been there. Saw Mr Wong Chin Nai. Didn't need to inform him of my condition. He \"diagnosed\" my ailment after taking my pulse:). Can opt for the powdered packets of herbs to mix with hot water (instead of herbs itself). Worked for me after three doses:)

Consultation fee is on ang pow basis. Depending on ailment, the pricing for the herbs would prob be costly if need to take on a longer term basis.

Pre-covid times - was easier to pay an additional amt (recall it was $6) to make an appt, if not keen to Q up there. Not sure if it's still very crowded these days.

My mother-in-law has been suffering from RA for a very long time (I think more than 15 years?). For the past 2 years, she has been seeing a doctor at SGH's ARC (Autoimmunity and Rheumatology Centre). She was given steroids for the first few months. After that, she was weaned off the steroids and was given non-steroid medicine. Just recently the doctor told her that now she does not even need any medicine for RA because her RA has stabilized. So don't give up. Maybe you just need to find a right doctor. RA won't be totally cured but there could be periods that your RA is stabilized and you don't need any medicine for your RA.

Bedok is too far for me thus, I have not tried this TCM before. My parents, grandma and extended family members, many of them flock there to see her.

Do me a favour, pls let me know if it is really good as I am keen to try. My dad’s hair started to turn black and my 90yo grandma’s nails turned pinkish after 调养身体.

Another one is inside Chinatown Point, 庆德堂。DH went there to treat his 五十肩 recently, which he claimed to be effective.

With regards to elderly, s'times swollen legs may be symptomatic of some other health issues.

FIL had giddiness & we thot it's his usual anaemia. Then when he was admitted for hip operation, doc said his leg has been swollen due to his chronic kidney problem.

Best not to delay fr proper diagnosis. Hope yr aunt receive right treatment to maintain good health.

TCM alternative to control yr arthritis pain in place of steroid thro heat treatment & herbal injection is slower to limit pain but only treating pain. There are herbal drinks u can take w/o constant seeking TCM doc. If I recall the name I'll let u know. There are some but I've to verify what I know in memory first.

I u'stand fr docs there is no cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis, can only treat pain. TCM treats the pain & gotta go back regularly for their treatment. TCM uses either heat treatment (those cupping or infra-heat) or 针灸 to help relax vein blockage & muscle cramps.

Why don't buy a heat-pad made of beans or millets or see one yourself. You can see a outer bag & wash it often. Use felt type of cloth & it'll retain heat longer as u use after microwave it hot. Use when reading, or sleeping. Anywhere.

Thanks for your kind advice. Yes I know there is no cure for RA, however I was hoping to use more TCM medicine (which is more herbal based) and less western medicine which has more side effects. The western doctor usually prescribes a steroid which is not to be used long term.
