Yes I agree to the above. These Pte Bus Company are charging exorbitant prices!! Plus they shouldn’t be charging Jun & Dec when kids aren’t utilising their services. Recent newspaper reports the lack of bus drivers, that nobody wants to drive etc… therefore resulted in price hike, thus demand cannot meet supply!

What to do? Either ferry kids yourself, employ maid to fetch, grandparents if available, take public transport, after school care inside school etc…

The one regulating the school bus service will be the School Bus Transport Association

Some school principals and vice-principals will not entertain you even if you sent a petition together with other parents.

Some school principals and vice-principals will be accommodating.

The schools can consider the option to have an open tender to welcome prospective bus transport companies to quote their pricing and based on that select the lowest quote that can provide a good service.

Trust me, won't work. Most schools don't want to change operators if they can help it. It is a tedious process involving quotes and tenders, and with each new operator, fares usually go up. Not to mention the disruption of routes and pick up timings for existing students.

We are held random by school bus operators.

Every school has their authorized bus transport company/contact person. Unless you book a taxi, that is another story.

Understand that most schools (maybe all schools :scratchhead: ) have her own authorized bus operators so if yours is not one of them, you can't go into the school.

Agreed... I calculated my sch bus fee is $4 plus per trip for the dist betw 1.5km ...and the journey is abt 45 mins coz my dd is among the last few to alight ....but there is no other choice

My child is entering P1 next year, my school fare is $134 from blk 304A Anchorvale Link to Springdale Primary, which is less than 1 km. I wish to know it is reasonable for paying this fare? The operator that came to the school is LongLim Pte Ltd.


May I know where to find a cheaper operator for school bus?
So near yet so ex! Did you ask how they calculate this figure? Less than 1 km should be less than $100. In my opinion, you should check with the school.
