Jetsetter, where to buy the bras, Jungceylon? Been there few times, nvr thought of buying bras, always buy cheapo tees that DSs can wear and \"throw\" since they outgrow their clothes so fast. But will be really interested to buy some bras this time. Can buy for FDW and in-laws too! :evil:

Just round them up to Jungceylon la...Wait go missing if venture to the streets...they come alive only at night anyway. Nothing much to buy from street markets...only Singha caps, Chang tee-shirts...wah piang...bad taste...

Yes, our landing place is Kalim Jetty, and we reached there on Monday morning. Think you better confirm with RC where exactly the cruise will dock, as I believe all the cruise schedules are well planned months in advance, so they should have know, and not on first-come-first-serve bah..


OIC, you are arranging your own pick-up so that's even more important to know which jetty to wait.

We didn't go Jungceylon, cos only have time to go to 1 mall so we decided on Central Festival. You can google centralfestivalphuket / jungceylon to see what are the shops they have there. You might not have time to go to both malls. Junceylon is nearer Patong Beach, whereas Central Festival is further in town. We made use of the 3 hrs free Wi-Fi at Central Festival, show your passport copy at the customer service to register and they will give you the password.

What's so nice abt Fuji n MK restaurants? I was always pestered to go there w my frens whenever we chilled in phuket:)


And when bored w Jungceylon, walk out towards Patong area to eat at small thai bistros, enjoy roadside massage, buy cheap medicine n toiletries from Boots pharmacy

Bangla soi is diagonally next blk but dead in the day. Cut thru bangla soi 10min u hit the beach n sea. If time permits, u can do parasailing;) Central fest is far from the beach....

For us, the cruise ship anchor around 8am, but priority is given to those who bought excursion trip to disembark first. so by the time we waited its around 9+am by the time we board the tender boat.


There is actually an elderly in wheelchair behind us, and she too was given priority to move ahead of us with her family. You could ask about this when you are on board. There are a few steps to walk down the deck to get to the boat, but I've observed the crews are experience in handling passengers, so shouldn't be much of a problem for elderly whom is not so mobile.

It took around 15mins to reach Kalim Jetty. And I saw a Star Cruise anchoring not far from us, so I guess for RC cruise should be the same?

Kalim Jetty is very near to Patong Beach, just 5mins or so. There are many Tuk Tuk and taxi drivers waiting around the jetty area ready to get business. So it's pretty easy to get transport around, but just need to negotiote price lah. They can bring you for temple visit, elephant ride, shopping etc.. So plan your itinery ahead and be clear of where you want to go.

For the six of us (include my 6yrs old girl) we just took a Tuk Tuk to get to Patong, where my gal braids her hair (a must for most girls her age) ,pick up some sea shells along the beach, see see walk walk around.. Nothing much to buy though. Then we took a taxi to Central Festival Market for our lunch and shopping.. We paid 600 baht to get there, and journey is around 20mins, depending on traffic.

We had lunch at Fuji Restaurant (Jap rest) on the 2nd floor, reasonable price. there also have Thai famous MK restuarant just next to it. its a modern shopping mall just like what we have here, but as we are not very adventurous, so we just stay around the mall till around 4+pm then take a taxi back to the jetty. The last tender boat back to the cruise ship for us is 6.30pm but we want to play safe, so left rather early. Quite rush actually, cos we initially had wanted to do some massage there, but due to time factor have to forgo it.

Note - Patong Beach is very very hot and sunny.. Be prepared..

I think it's about the same, but i'm going with Royal Caribbean. Is it the same?

We tried to find out from RC about the arrangement, and they confirmed it's via tender boat to the land but can't tell us exactly where the 'landing' place is.

Where is the pier that the tender boats stop at? Is it ok for the elderly who might not be too mobile, especially with steps?
