Oh, my goodness. I recall years ago my sharing for ceiling paintings is abt $150. I guess prices shot up due to short of workers.

Yea, it’s not a good time to have renovation works done. Short of manpower and the safety rules.. prices went up..

Mould treatment for 1 toilet? That is ex. I just did for 3 toilets $450

in my case, it is the bedroom which has mould at the ceiling bec the tenant hardly opens the window.

So I was spending lots of time in the canteen, eating and eating, because that drug makes me hungry. Within a couple of months I went from 50+kg to 70+kg and it kept going up. Pretty scary :scared:

I do more veggies ratio to typical white meat except occasional special meal with beef, duck meat or seafood. My problem is once we’ve curry or Assam fish dishes on the table, aiyo, just lost count on the portion.

I know some relatives hv 大鱼大肉 daily & pre-covid chase cuisine round town, travel lots & hardly spend time at landed nor swim in their pool. There’s only one body, limited time to spread ourselves thin.

So very agree with Liew Nga Wing. I suppose then we’ve gotta appreciate the reason behind building wealth.

But in SG, the days of windfall profit fr pte property has somehow dim. These days the young can create real beautiful interiors tt will make plain pte properties look drab. Won’t be surprised those in HDB probably hv high disposable spending power.

I rmbr the Straits Times ran an article on Wu Teh Yao (a learned Chinese Uni Professor) who said “It doesn’t matter what kind of home I live in, but true friends will seek each other out even if I live in an HDB” (who lived for decades in a 5-room in Jurong West). It was a response to reporter question as to why he don’t live it up in a landed house, which he cld well afford, & esp when he receives delegates & high profile visitors fr all over the world. Kudos for one not conscious in measuring his worth against materials.
