100% agree. Many people caught in such situations didn't know what to do except to send their maids back to agency and ask for replacement.

We can do one step better and don't let the scourge of bad maids hurt us and our families.

the problem is these maids can do funny things to get a passport.
MOM staff told me UNLESS the maid really committed a criminal act, there is no way to bar them from entering Singapore.

My maid did not commit a criminal act. But she breached work permit conditions. I had to go through a lot to get her the employment ban. MOM is really hopeless. They let you do all the work.

I read from your other thread, what a terrible maid you had and she does not feel ashamed at all for the trouble she cause.

They feel they are entitled to lie or steal (as we see it) but it's not a bad thing/big deal to them. They feel that they can justify this behaviour.

They say they lie because they are scared (have to pay for damage or get scolding), like when we discovered they have broken something.

They use our things without asking, knowing that they are not supposed to...when discovered..... they justify it as just borrow only, just try a little bit only, it's not stealing, what is the big deal?

They feel such a sense of achievement, pride and superiority when they think that they have gotton away with all the laziness, lying and the stealing etc. Sometimes we just put up with it because we are tired that day and just tolerate because at the time we still need them.....anyway.... good riddence to bad rubbish your maid!

The fact that the maid uses a false name to re-enter, means she’s trying to hide something, about her past employment. Otherwise, why would she need to use a false name ?

Before the agency send this false identity maid to your house,
Is the agency aware that she is using false name to work in your home ?

Yes they only get discovered after they arrive in Singapore but they still get sent back. They also know that they can no longer come in using false identity. For my case agent gave me a free replacement and I suffered no financial loss, just inconvenience.

maids can re-enter Singapore with another name. as long as they didn't commit any criminal acts, there is nothing potential employers can do...anyway, employers are always on the losing end when there is a maid.

Thank you for your kind message and I fully agree with you, we are at the losing end of the stick. It seems so favourable to the FDW as opposed to the employers.

For example on the MOM link it says:

An employer can be put on a blacklist and banned from hiring FDWs if deemed to cause psychological abuse to a FDW. However, even if an FDW gave an employer psychological abuse it appears they are not blacklisted nor put on a ban.

Am I reading this correctly? And why is there a differentiation of reasons to be blacklisted between an employer and a FDW? What happened to fair accountability? I thought about it all week but I am still struggling to understand this...I really do feel traumatized by this whole incident.
