Who cares whether the fellow is registered or not. I am not supposed to receive such sms. Guess this DNC is not fool proof and some are taking advantage of the loophole.
Luckily am just receiving the sms and not calls.

Prohibition of unsolicited loans
17.—(1) No licensee shall —

(b)grant approval to any person to obtain a loan from the licensee; or
©send or deliver, directly or indirectly, any article or document to any person on an undertaking by the licensee that such article or document, when used or produced in a specified manner, enables a loan to be obtained from the licensee,
without the person having first applied to the licensee in writing for the loan.
(2) Any licensee who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $20,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.

•Your particulars (name, NRIC, contact number, etc)
•The date and approximate time of the call/text/fax you received;
•The Singapore telephone number on which you received the call/text/fax;
•If available, the name and telephone number of the person that made or sent the call/text/fax;
•If available, the name of the organisation on whose behalf the call/text/fax was made or sent (for example, the caller/sender may be employed by one company but made the call/text/fax on behalf of another company);
•If available, the contact details (such as a website or telephone or fax number) of the organisation involved;
•Contents of the call/text/fax (where applicable, to attach a copy of the message received);
•Whether you have any ongoing relationship (e.g. membership, subscription) with the organisation; and
•Whether you recall having withdrawn consent from that organisation to contact you.
You can send the above information to the PDPC through any of the following channels:

I had in the past kept receiving unsolicited calls from telemarketers asking me to sign up for ready credit for citibank. I told them no, and a few weeks or months later, they would call again. This repeated at least 3 times, and it really pissed me off. And I'd also received numerous calls from people who said they were calling on behalf of banks (that I have accounts with), to try to sell me insurance. I definitely do not want that to happen.

Yeah, before DNC comes into effect, I do receive telemarketers calling mainly from citibank but I requested for my no. to be removed from the calling list. Thereafter, I hardly get calls from them.

I am willing to tolerate with minimal unsollicited calls or sms cos I do not want to miss out on good deals esp when my hp/broadband/home loan comes due.

But I have just one query in mind - if I have register with DNC & thereafter, I advertise something for sale or rent, will it override my DNC registration & taken to imply that I have given written permission to waive my rights under DNC ? :?

There's always the dilemma that the unsubscribe function actually informs the mailer that yours is an active email, making your email the target of even more unsolicited mail. Dilemma: to unsubscribe or not to unsubscribe.

Actually unity denticare is not really a sales or mkting company, so far, d smses i hv recd from them are only reminder of appts.


they hv modified d regulation to allow only companies with existing relationships like banks n telcos to continue mktg messages. Such i wldnt mind.

I just came back from Unity Denticare and they made me sign an opt out form for their company.
