Keep centre lane and don't drive too fast... So can change lanes after seeing the new signs.
MCE new road very smooth... Very tempting to do F1 speed.
Wonder where are the speed cams?

AFAIK, GPS signal cannot penetrate into the tunnel. Is your navigator able to work inside KPE?

Yah hor... forgot that. Actually i've not needed the GPS in Singapore so far, but i suspect others might need.

In australia recently, we couldn't go anywhere without the GPS.

Even if got no signal inside the tunnel, the google map/GPS should at least recognise the location (which is MCE) the moment it comes out into the open again, and be able to advise right exits from there right? If not updated, will not be able to tell you where you are even when out in the open (after tunnel)...

the super long tunnel is an amazing piece of construction. singaporeans should feel proud we get to enjoy such high-end tunnels.

Our leaders are pragmatists. Anything that impedes the growth of SG must go, like NLB that obstructed the tunnel to Penang Rd, and even former MM wants his house demolished:

‘Because of my house the neighbouring houses cannot build high. Now demolish my house and change the planning rules, go up, the land value will go up,’ he said. …"

But having said that, I don’t think the bridge will go anytime soon. It’s still in KBW’s 2013 Masterplan where I got the map! haha.

Meanwhile, continue to take that route to hv a breathtaking view of our skyline! Marathoners will rejoice in its preservation too.

Beach Road is not near the Beach... So Sheares Ave can't be near Sheares Bridge?

I think long, long time ago, Beach Road (where Golden Mile complex is) was close to the sea ie beach. I used to remember some shops along Beach Road sell fishing equipment.

Personally, I dont like tunnels in the sea. I prefer bridges which allow me to see far away.
The Sheares Bridge is to remember our 2nd president and if this were to demolish one day to make way for something great that generates more money (AGAIN?), I hope there would be something similar for the future generations to remember our 2nd president.

i wonder if they will dig another cross-Kallang River tunnel from Costa Rhu to the River Hongbao site; or bring that part of ECP down to ground level and just build a lower bridge to connect to Suntec zone...Once we knock down all the towering pillars, the plot ratios of Suntec will rise I guess? No need the high Bridge cos Tg Rhu shipyard already moved...

And from the Suntec area to MBS/Gardens BTB, there really is no need for such a high Bridge also. Either build an underground tunnel at mouth of Singapore River near Floating Platform (which will go one day) to link to Sheares Ave, or lower the ECP flyover to ground level...

Such an eyesore to have 3 parallel rds - Helix Bridge + Bayfront Ave + ECP... :razz: Sheares Bridge must go one day.

What was the old route? Isn't rochor exit right next to suntec?

Previously was like KPE (shorter) - Exit (shorter) - Rochor Road - Temasek boulevard

Now travel longer KPE to join MCE... Almost going to Gardens by the Bay, U-turn to MBS then go to Suntec.
Force me to go sightseeing... 😆

You must have missed an exit. It is still KPE - ECP - Rochor Road. No need to go MCE at all.

The exit to the west-bound ECP and Sheares Bridge is also at Exit 1. After exiting KPE at Exit 1, keep left if going to Changi Airport, but keep right if going to ECP/Sheares Bridge/Rochor Road.

You can look at Onemap to get a better idea if still unclear.
