It’s not easy to get to Redang.

Either long drive or by cruise. For Langkawi, you just need to take a short flight there.
Like fable said, if you don’t snorkel or dive, there is not much to do at redang. For Langkawi, you can explore the mangroves, watch eagle feeding, visit bat caves and take the pretty breath-taking cable car.

Redang’s beaches are beautiful, and their waters crystal clear and great for snorkeling and scuba diving. But there really isn’t very much apart from that to do as its such a small island.

Langkawi is alot larger, and so there’s more to explore. There are some nice treks and waterfalls, and of course you can still go snorkeling in nice waters. Its been quite a while since I’ve been there, but I recall the snorkeling alot more commercial and crowded than Redang. Lots of people just sitting in the water with or without snorkeling masks with reef sharks and all manner of fish swimming about.
