A microwave oven doesn't set a temperature (unless you are using the convection feature). Look on the package and see if there are instructions for microwave heating.

Based on the instructions, you are probably heating up something that is already cooked. If you microwave something like that for 10 mins, you are likely to end up with rubber or charcoal. If there are no mocrowave instructions, it could be that you are heating something that is unsuitable for heating in a microwave oven. If you still want to try, I suggest you try 30 seconds first, and then go in 15-30 second increments after that. Once you are familiar with your microwave oven and various types of food, you will have a better idea of how long to heat the food.

sharonkhoo

Reply to Microwave oven- get it or not? on Wed, 20 May 2020 08:47:06 GMT

How to convert degrees to Watts, the package says bake 160 degrees for 10 mins…my Oven only had watts in the settings…headache!

Have you had problems with your microwave ovens breaking down quickly? Are you a heavy user? So far, all my microwave ovens (probably around 6 different ones over the years, various brands) have lasted more than 2 years. I think only 1 actually broke down while it was mine, after many years. Most of the others were passed on to other people because I moved around, but were already at least 5 yrs by the time I passed the on. I am not a very heavy user, but my microwave oven gets used at least a few minutes each day.

sharonkhoo

Reply to Microwave oven- get it or not? on Wed, 27 Nov 2019 06:23:27 GMT

Any recommendations for the best microwave to buy in town?
