How is this different from Mindchamps and adam khoo?

:yikes:

sally

Hi sallygoh,

If I may provide some help here... I've previously sent my son to Mindchamps. Honestly find that they are highly overpriced. They focus more on helping the child to learn, very academic.

I am deciding whether to switch over to Jumpstart, because I find that my boy does not face so much problem with needing to know how to learn (e.g. reading and writing), but he was facing motivation issues. He is always distracted and throws loads of tantrums when I try to get him to study. I started on Jumpstart because they seem to focus more on broader skills, specifically on how to control emotions and impulsive behavior, not just academics.

I have called their consultants to find out more, because I tend to be sceptical about how companies sell their products on their website. The consultant was quite helpful and able to explain how their courses help increase motivation. Prices for the June holiday camp seems reasonable, and my boy is actually interested in going after hearing that it is egyptian themed (think it is a ploy to get kids interested haha). Usually he kicks up a fuss when I try to drag him to other enrichment classes because he sees that as tuition.

Perhaps you can call them if you are interested? No harm just finding out more before deciding. Feel free to PM me if you wish to chat more about this also

verykiasumama

Reply to Enrichment courses for pri and sec school kids? on Thu, 24 Apr 2014 06:40:40 GMT

Hi,

Their website looks interesting.. i like how their workshops are themed... my daughter seems pretty keen for the master chef one..

but are there other companies who do such workshops/camps? Every program about the same. Mindchamps no difference, and much more expensive. I have a friend who spent many thousands of dollars on such enrichment lessons, and in the end u know what? She said the trainer did not even know her child’s name after the program ended, cos so many students in one class, and her child is very quiet and results below average, and cannot understand the lessons but do not dare to raise hands.

Don’t waste money la. My advice. Wait till something different comes, then maybe i will consider.
