Please do not buy xiaomi if u are used to iphone. Xiaomi battery will drain like very fast same as samsung. Unless u have lost ur phone and contract not up yet, then buy for temporary use. Even my kids don't want to use hahaha. It's the same theory as cars, don't buy china make cherry QQ compare to the Hondas.....

I've been using a Redmi for half a year now, and one thing I love about it is that its battery life is so much longer than the Samsung and the iPhone. I carry an extra battery around so if battery is low I just swop batteries and I'm at 100% again. Seldom need to do this tho - even with constant fb and whatsapp and photography and videos it will easily last 10 hours.

Its not just an imitation of the iphone or android - there are lots of small thoughtful functionalities that I really like. The only real drawback is that onboard memory is small, but I have at 32GB card in that's rooted, so thats not a real problem.

Prior to the Redmi, I was using a Samsung s4 and before that an iPhone 4.

does it have access to China’s own app store or sth like that? i have been trying to access some of the Chinese learning apps for my kid via iOS but always cannot access the full features, perhaps because i’m outside China?



Redmi is based on the GooglePlay ecosystem, so not sure where iOS comes into the picture.

If you bought the set from the OFFICIAL Mi Website in Singapore, it WILL have GooglePlay.

Sets meant for Chinese domestic markets WILL NOT GooglePlay installed.

Else if you bought from someone else 2nd hand/HP shops/even some coupon related sites / Q10, chances are its a China set without GooglePlay or warranty and you probably paid a higher price…

Strange but my iPhone battery dies really quickly compared to my android friends. Half an hour travel can wipe out 20-40% if I'm using it to talk and play games :roll:

I have used all 3 phones and usage my pattern is the same. And technically, base on OS, battery quality and apps management by the IOS which will enhance battery life. Don't forget there is other factors such as 4G coverage which is lacking in some areas and when there is no 4G, the phone will start searching for 3G this will drain the battery very fast.

Agree. What more do u ask for such budget phone? It's fast n user friendly, it is good enough for the kids.

The dual sim card feature is good to travel though. I bought one for a friend as a gift. It's quite a good first phone to have if you're upgrading from your old nokia. :boogie:
