Do you know if Maldives is a good place to bring kids who are between the ages of 7 - 12? Would they be bored?

Between Dec and June, June is off peak and so called monsoon period. But I find its only passing showers and never had any problems during my trip in June.

A couple of my friends went for Club Med as the price is all inclusive. They enjoyed their holiday very much.

I think I will go for Club Med too if I go.

The elderly can hang around and eat/drink then stroll around and repeat the whole cycle all day.

My senior joins us for holidays at vacation clubs at the beaches. 吃了就走走 走走了就吃 or participate in cooking classes. Its not at all boring.

I am trying to find out which area will have a higher possibility of calm clear waters in June, and would appreciate some feedback on midrange water villa resorts for a group of 10. We are not into scuba diving, and just want to have R&R in a quiet peaceful place with plentiful marine life. I assume most resorts will provide basic water sports equipment.

Just came back from Maldives and my kids really enjoyed our week long stay! We stayed couple nights at local island Maafushi where activities for whole family was much cheaper before moving to a more atas water villa. At the local islands, we bargained and paid USD90 for fishing trip and USD110 for snorkelling at 3 places cum dolphin cruise plus lunch at private sandbank. Other than snorkelling and fishing, we also went for massage. At the water villa resort, we of course paid much more. The price for one person for fishing alone already cost USD110! So my advice is if you are gonna be spending more than a couple days in Maldives, do all the activities you want at the local islands. And also please try to book accommodation with half board. (Eg. Breakfast and Dinner) Food is SOOOOO expensive and for me, not worth it. Am glad we brought plenty of instant noodles! 😄

Try not to pack expensive things in your luggage especially if you're checking in duffle bags. Not meaning to worry you and perhaps we were unlucky, but we'd ours rummaged through and zipper destroyed because we'd put a lock so subsequently we carried our scuba gears in duffle bags. Rummaged through too. Happened to a couple of friends too. One had his underwater camera equipment stolen. His was in a suitcase. And we all flew SQ so I'm very sure it wasn't Changi's issue.

I got a special half board promotion for water villa at Loama resort but the transport ended up being more costly than the accommodation! Anyone knows if we are allowed to bring foodstuffs to Male? I intend to bring instant noodles, lots of snacks and probably even mineral water…

Personally, I don't think so. You're counting in travel time too right?
If you're taking SQ, leaving on the 22nd, you'll arrive after midnight of the 23rd. And you'll leave on the 30th. So technically, you have 7 full days. And if you scuba dive, that's a pretty decent time length, in my opinion. We're going to Reethi Rah from 11th-18th Dec. They're running a special. Great kids club too.

We've stayed at the Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Club Meds Faru and Kani. Faru has since closed. We're planning to stay at the Finolhu Villas in Feb 2016 without our daughter because there's no kids club.
Had a great time at everyone of them. I think Reethi Rah is a good option since they have programs for teenagers too.

We are going to go 1st week of June for 8 days on SQ. It is the only time we can go since its school holidays. I hope it doesnt rain !

Full board. There were manta rays, Sharks etc around the resort.

You can jump direct fr your villa into the sea to snorkel anytime.

Was told Dec is a gd time to Maldives.
