Each has its own unique symptoms and timeline. I use non-steroid, anti-inflammatory rubs or doc prescribed Ketoprofen just to relieve my aches & pain whilst it heals. Owise I prefer to let it heal naturally with some careful stretches. I never chose injections as concern with long-term after effects.

Freezing stage:

You develop a pain (sometimes severe) in your shoulder any time you move it.
It slowly gets worse over time and may hurt more at night.
This can last anywhere from 6 to 9 months.
You’re limited in how far you can move your shoulder.

Frozen stage:

Your pain might get better but your stiffness gets worse.
Moving your shoulder becomes more difficult and it becomes harder to get through daily activities.
This stage can last 4-12 months.

Thawing stage:

Your range of motion starts to go back to normal.
This can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

For exercises, try these :-

1. Pendulum Stretch
2. Towel Stretch
3. Finger Walk on the Walls (diff angles actually help the muscle loosen up differently)
4. Armpit Stretch - just stand at armpit level & do a squat pushing yr hand down as yr ankle try to 'squat' (not a full squat). You'll feel a light muscle stretching at armpit level.
5. Inward Stretch - Hold a stretching band in & out with both hands holding each end of the stretching band. Got my band fr one of my exercise class.
6. Outward Stretch - get a large stretch and & put it round the doorknob & just keep going. Pull & Stretch, pull & Stretch.
7. Crossbody stretches - stretch one hand out & hold tight the elbow with yr other palm.

Estéema

Reply to Frozen Shoulder on Wed, 29 Aug 2018 04:55:54 GMT

Frozen shoulder treatment primarily consists of pain relief and physical therapy. Exercises and stretching for frozen shoulder serves two functions First, to increase the motion in the joint Second, to minimize the loss of muscle on the affected arm (muscle atrophy). I cannot adequately emphasize the importance of therapy and exercises, as these are the key to successful frozen shoulder treatment. Physical therapists may also incorporate ultrasound, ice, heat, and other modalities into the rehabilitation for frozen shoulder. Cortisone injections are also commonly used to decrease the inflammation of shoulder joint.Usually up to three injections can be given, spanning several weeks. After three injections, if improvement is not seen it is unlikely that more injections will alter the course of frozen shoulder treatment.

I find that the fastest way for patients to get pain relief is a steroid injection into the shoulder joint. This has to be given directly into the ball and socket joint (the glenohumeral joint) to be effective, as opposed to the bursa which is where most shoulder injections are given. A steroid shot typically helps with pain by relieving inflammation in the joint, but the stiffness still requires stretching to resolve. Most people will see significant improvement with an injection, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatories, but a small minority will continue to have pain and stiffness and might require a manipulation under anesthesia or a capsular release.

Brexit

Reply to Frozen Shoulder on Mon, 12 Feb 2018 10:42:39 GMT

hercules:

Sample:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW2GazQq3R0
.

starlight1968sg

Reply to Frozen Shoulder on Mon, 12 Feb 2018 06:43:44 GMT

starlight1968sg:
Frozen shoulders is never the end of the world

A lot of things is the end of the world for her.
