The other 2 goldsmith shops at Beauty World Centre, lvl 1, provide the svc at their factories. The ring will be cut n some gold will be added. However, if the design is too special, the shop wont accept the job as the shifu might not be able to replicate the design on the added gold.

Fees depends on the type of gold to be added and the design of the ring.

Sin Wah (the shop nearer the escalator) says takes around 1-2 days, Lean Seng Ling (the shop next to Zoo Phonics) says a week.

My Granduncle used to work as a goldsmith in On Cheong in Chinatown. He used to be one of those skilled goldsmiths at the back of the shop that would customize the gold pieces according to customers needs on the spot, perfect for what you need. I'm not sure if they still provide this service after all these years since he has retired for almost 20 years, but think its worth giving them a call to check it out. Think there should be more traditional shops in Chinatown that would still have a higher chance.

Last week, I was at goldsmith shop. Unless you bought from them, most are not in favor to expand the ring. Hubby decide not to expand, preferring to get a new pair instead. We are looking around.
