My girl has got a confirmed offer from PHS via DSA Leadership for 2025 enrolment. Was contemplating should I take up the offer. Is PHS a good school? Are there a lot of bullies? In order to appeal, the criteria is :-

you must have met the official Cut off point, for Presbyterian High. This is a rule set by MOE, across the board for all Secondary schools in Singapore. This rule is not set by Presbyterian High school herself.

However, two years later,
you may seek Transfer into Presbyterian High, at the end of Secondary 2 around Sept / October, assuming that u are still interested in this school (PHS), provided vacancies still arise for Transfer by then. If no vacancy arise, Sorry, u cannot Transfer into PHS.

A former alumni told me bullying (girls) is rife at PHS. Is that true?

Do they have teachers strong in teaching Math and do the teachers have time for students who need help, including dyslexic kids?

My child is in Sec 3 (born 2008). He is generally happy to go to school, with a few close CCA friends and classmates. He is active in school and the school has provided opportunities for him to shine where he is talented. Teachers are caring and responsive. The Christian environment is loving and uplifting. Would have my other kids attend PHS too if possible.

If your P6 son / daughter is keen in Presbyterian High, can put it inside your 6 choices of Secondary schools.
Most important thing is, his ( her) last choice #6, is able to catch him (her), no matter how the COP movement going to turn out, this year.

As of now (Dec 2021),
no more vacancy for Transfer into PHS, for Sec 3 (Express stream).

PHS is one of the few rare co-ed Secondary schools in Singapore, that offer the rare subject, GCE "O" level Economics.

When I called the school, the staff checked and told me that students of other religions could opt out though.


My son would definitely prefer not to have to join religious activities but if he could opt out, then it should be fine. We’re also looking at Yishun Town Sec, which has a similar COP but is autonomous. It’s further away compared to PHS though.

When I attended the open house 2 years ago, the student councillors did mention that all students are required to attend a 1 hour chapel session once a week. Perhaps you should ask your son whether he is comfortable to be in a missionary school.
