I have an Indonesian maid ready for transfer.
She just came back recently after working here for 3 years for previous employer.
I employed her to take care of my mum but my mum refused to have a maid at home.
She is with me for 2 weeks only.
She is 30 years (looks much younger) and is pleasant.
Good in English, no problem in communication.
She can cook and do marketing on her own.
Basic salary $480 + $35 for 2 off-days in lieu (means she will have 2 off days per month).

They will always test our limits to bend us to their will. If we give in, they will keep pushing till the day, everything explode in their face. Then they will start to cry, beg… once again, bending us to their will…have to forgive them, give them another chance…

This is a maid’s job… cook, clean, wash, iron, housekeeping etc. All they have to do is… to obey instructions, do their work dilligently. In time, they would have earned our trust and eventually, we would be so happy and grateful that we would treat them very very well with extra bonus, trust them with days off, buy them stuff etc…

The maids choose to scheme have to do the least and laze off, threaten to leave for a better job etc. These days, it appears that they start scheming the moment they arrive in Singapore, to take advantage of us and the situation, to get more money, more attention from men etc.

It's a sad situation, but the maids always test our limit to bend us to their will. Only when they know that they have lost their job and being sent home, then they start to buck up.


I hope MOM realize that if they really want to help us and they can only do one thing for us.........that one thing could be to... NOT allow transfer or they have to return to home country for 3 months and re apply/ re enter for new employer.

This will really make the maids take their job seriously and don't anyhow commit to any employer. Asking for transfer is like holiday for them, food and lodging paid by us and we have to pay their levy as well.
i'm waiting for the day to come when MOM will finally support us employers to terminate these bad eggs once and for all!

sometimes these maids, ah, try to be funny in front of us by telling us tall stories...then when we really get a replacement already, they regret and beg us for a chance.... :stupid: what is wrong with them??? :slapshead:

my ex-maid, the one that boasted she can find ang moh employer who is willing to pay her $700 plus 4 off days, when i send her back to the agent, she revealed to the agent that she cannot find and ask the agent to help her find any employer! :frustrated: so i dunno why she was boasting in front of me... :rant:

We had confronted our maid but decided not to take the phone and tablet from her and let her relationship continues. At the same time, we were sourcing for a new one to replace her. Surprisingly, she is like turning over a new leaf. Housework are done properly and things are back in order. She became even more polite and get all the things done when told. Her initiative is back too.


By now we have found a new maid and we are having second thought in sending the current one home. We recognized she needs a job to support her family back home.

So, if anyone of you who don’t mind a maid with HP, tablet and BF, you can pm me ASAP. Otherwise she will be home after mid June. We have trained her well to cook delicious local and western food, and she is responsible enough to do all the houseworks and bring my kid to tuitions twice a week.

Pls note I am not passing the bugs here and have no problem sending her home. Just hope she can continue supporting her family with her new found enthusiasm. I hope I am doing the right thing for her and her future employer, if any.

They came within 10 mins! I cancelled her work permit 2 days before her flight date, so when she called up the agency, the agent said they cant do anything and she must return to her country since I had already cancelled the work permit.

Maids back then were more hardworking and wanted to earn money to support families back home…now most of them are here to enjoy life.
They also want to choose employer…pref angmoh because they have freedom to run the house, go to supermarket and take cab home. Cooking is much easier than Asians. Hygiene wise, not as fussy as Asians.

I been maidless since March, as I granted special request for maid to go back for 1 week, but she didn't come back as promised..
life haywired..but still don't dare to employ new maid ..

She said 2 (including her) are filipino and one Indonesian maid who have been with them for many years. The couple hire 2 filipino maid at the agency but apparently the filipino maids cant get along with the Indonesian maid. (maid politics) 😂 my ex-maid told me the other filipino maid even got into a fight with the indonesian maid as she like to spin story in front of Sir and Mdm.
I believed her initially but wondered how true it is after she told me so many lies. For your info, during CNY i ask her if she would like to have a
hair cut, guess what she told me! she asked:\" Mum, can I re-bond or perm my hair instead?!\" I was like wat?!
I took this myanmar maid good, no off day, dont even want her go market and cheaper than filipino. Although their command of english is not as strong as filipino but I believe with some training, they should be able to pick up very fast. :xedfingers:

My first 2 maids were Filipino and I can relate to some of the stories as how they will spend the money to rebond their hair and on their phone, etc and they are very good at telling stories.

I guess nowadays it is really getting tougher to have good maid so treasure it if you have a good one!

Janet_lee88, yes..maids last time were so much more hardworking and thrifty. Their main purpose of going other countries to work is to improve their homes and families back home. Nowadays, maids are so different. All come out to work because they want extra money to fund their HP, iPads, shopping and have BFs here or in other countries. Nevermind, even if they are married back home! My mum's ex maid, married with a 15 year old daughter back home and over here, dressed sexily on her off days and have a Bangla BF and take intimate photos with him ( saw her pics on FB)...

I believe many other maids are like that..so that's why I dun want to employ anymore maids...unless really necessary...

Yes, that is so true…most are adapted to the modern and technologically savvy Singapore that when they go back, they cannot blend in with their country anymore. One of my ex-maid, the one who went to HK, went back for home leave once and told me that when she reached her airport and saw the state of the roads and trees in her own hometown, she got scared and disgusted. My last one went back for home leave and couldn’t wait to come back because internet and phone connection was bad in her hometown. However, she was so used to having freedom, as in her sister was looking aft her son while she worked in SIN, that she couldn’t get use to taking care of her son when she went back. First time home leave she was very happy to go back and see her son and kept talking abt him when she came back to work. Second time home leave she did not mention her son at all and only told me she went out with so and so and went to do her hair and went to the studio to take photos…even more so that she had a bf in SIN so her calls home were getting lesser and lesser…felt sorry for her son cos her son and my own son are the same age…

was screaming at my younger son who was down with fever, asking him to shut up and walk while fetching my elder son from school.
She was also a transfer maid and had worked with me for 7 mths. The agency told me she requested for a transfer as the previous employer was a caucasian who had 3 maids at home and she couldnt get along with them. The agent also told me she was ill-treated by the employer as they will make the maids cook one dish of veg or small fish to be shared by 3 maids. I took her as I found her to be experienced in SG and she had 3 kids. Throughout the 7 mths, she was telling lies after lies.
She told me she was married with 3 kids and her husband is in phillippines. after she finished her loan, she told my mother in law maid that she wants to go back as she had no intention of fufiling her 2 yrs contract. After I confronted her she told me no no mdm, I promise to work 2 yrs. Then I found out from her diary that she had a bf in SG!
Although its mean to peek her diary, but no choice I realised she look very listless, like no heart to work. I have to leave my 2 kids with her so I feel very insecure.
I closed one eye when I found out she got bf, but I warned her not to get involved or contract any sex diseases as she is married with 3 kids.
Then she told me she plan to find her husband who managed to find a job in Dubai recently.
I got fed up after my elder son complained to me how he treated my younger boy, we asked her back:\" Do you ask your son to shut up when he is down with fever and crying?\" She acted blur and said she had never
said that to my boy. After few interrogation, she then confessed but said she didnt know cannot said shut up as her command of english is not strong. She even asked me back,\" Mdm, can I use silence or quiet?'!
We treated her very very well, every sat we brought her out to eat, we treated her like part of our family, letting her sleep at 9pm and wake at 630am. However, she take us for granted, she will tell me her friends got 4 off days every mth, I told her dont compare your contract is 2 off days every mth and her face blackened. She also ask for extra weekday off so she can go on course! She even told me if her contract is up, she will ask for salary $600 and every sun off.
Then I realised its a mistake to hire filipino because they are too smart.
and she is a spendthrift. 2 months of salary $1000 and she left with $50.
She spend all her $$ at buying pre-paid card talking on the phones, sometimes she tell me she need go down call her husband very urgent.
I decided to send her back after what she did to my son, my reason of sending her back is if today she is in bad mood and can scream at them, tomorrow she can abuse them. if i send her back to agency, another suay employer take her and need her to look after the kids, their kids might get abuse. One thing, I found out is never trust what the agency said to you, if you are getting a transfer maid or maid that had work in SG, go in to MOM website and find out the employment history first. I realised mined changed 2 employer within 5 mths in SG!
When i told her im sending her to the airport, she cried out. she refused to leave or pack her luggage. She bring out her right to stay in SG, call embassy, call agency. Even I told her Im calling the police she also can say police no right to handcuff me! I said im doing a good deed as you keep saying you miss your kids and husband and you want to apply go Dubai. Then she tld me actually she told lies as her husband is missing and she dont know where he is. I got even angrier and told her her lies did her harm, if I know that I wouldnt have send her back.
She finally back her luggage after 5 policemen came my house! :yikes:

That is true...cos an ex- maid of mine went to work in HK aft working in SIN and she called back to tell us that although HK got more pay, but the temptation to shop is bigger and thus she couldn't save a single cent. Said when she was working in SIN, she managed to save money to rebuilt her house back home but working in HK, she couldn't save any money so she regretted working in HK.
