We tried all kinds of cleansers and acne cream but couldn't help her significantly. DH finally brought her to his skin doc (he also has quite bad acne problem and she probably inherited his condition  ) and she's now using their entry level cleansing products. DermaRx. Being a girl, she's very diligent to keep to the routine. Now her skin is clear.

Reply to acne on forehead of an 11 yr old on Tue, 20 May 2014 02:31:48 GMT

Hi

His are those "small skin colored typed" , but at times there will be one or two with pus. And I have this habit on wanting to pop them, cos they stayed on his face for a tad too long and I am afraid that it will become a small bump without head.

Currently, he is using Eversoft organic facial wash, and I am contemplating if I should even use those oil control products. Then again, the breakouts only on the T-zone and the rest of his face is still delicate.

Question: Should I bring him to the skin doc at tampines (Maple Clinic) which received quite a number of good reviews? Anyone brought their kids there before?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

We tried several products (from bodyshop, blackheads removing gel etc) but it didn’t help. Problem is he is not very conscientious in keeping up with the cleaning routine. He is like your DS, perpires alot, hair keep falling/sticking to his forehead, uses his hand to wipe the forehead etc.

Recently, I bought the ClearFace oil control essence from Faceshop for him to try. It cleared most of his tiny spots and helped prevent red big acne, but it’s still not perfect yet. Now I made him use the Avene Micellar Cleansing Lotion follow by either Cetaphil cleanser or Bodyshop Tea Tree Cleanser.

Anyone knows what other ways to totally clear the skin of the stubborn small skin coloured spots on the forehead?

My son is using Curel face wash after school and it works well for him. His persistent spot on the chin has disappeared. He also stopped putting his chin on his school desk.

Do not use a harsh product, it will make things worse.

I gave my kids Johnson’s "clean and clear" face wash when they were around that age and they have been using it since. Ask him to try to keep his hair off his forehead, not to touch his face with his hands when outside, and not to wipe his face with hands/shirt etc (if he likes to do this). He should try to drink plenty of plain water and eat lots of veg and fruit.
