I frequent geylang, sometimes I do park very near or even at the area of the whorehouse. My whole family knows about it, but this does not means I looking for thrill there...
I even went in whore house due to some volunteer work, I go eat there, I go temples there.
Can you share what kind of volunteer work you had done there?

I had to drive to Geylang (even no lorong) a couple of times for work too. But it’s not that sort of work you’d imagine. It’s serious business for a big social cause.

During my last trip to that building, I had to cab back to CBD as my counterpart couldn’t send me back. A cab picked me up and asked how long I’d been in Singapore.

Afraid that he’d think I was a whore, I quickly phoned my colleague in office to chat about work, in my feigned American accent to show that I was an educated yuppie. LOL.

I just find that the practice of shaming those car-owners parked inside brothel is rather bigotry. The fact that the Govt has legalized & designated that place as red-light zone, means that the Govt has considered the social & economic need of the various groups of society - i.e some foreign workers who are away from family for months, single men (above certain age) not married, visiting foreign business counterparts and many more.

I do not advocate married men visiting brothel. To me, these group of married men have some fundamental problems in their marriage, which best resolve between themselves & their spouses. The act of shaming these men through posting their car numbers is not helping but further jeopardize their marriage, if the spouse finds out from a third party :torchme:

The lamp is either at the gate or on the wall.


Some people said watch out for big red lanterns but there are so many small temples/praying houses which hang lanterns too so it is hard to tell them apart.

We usually park along sims ave or the Main Street (geylang). We avoid the even nos. lanes.
