When the school applied for 6-year IP , they clearly stated that mix school is a trend and they are going to admit students of both sexes right from sec one for the IP. That view is at odd with Victoria School which insist to keep their tradition as a single sex boys school.

I suppose many single sex schools isn’t too sure if it is better to segregate the sex for education. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be finding excuses and opportunities to hold activities together (with their counterpart boys or/girls schools) such as during sports day etc…

In this information age, students go to the internet to meet friends including friends of the oppossite sex of different schools so I guess school isn’t a strong barrier anymore.

Moreover, when they get to JCs which is only 16-17 years old, they will still face the same problem.

Conclusion is that education in single sex schools to prevent BGR distraction isn’t much of a strong valid point. If it is proven to be better, then mix schools should divide their classes according to gender.
