Germany's Mario Goetze carries the jersey of injured countryman Marco Reus at the end of the 2014 World Cup final …

It's was the jersey of Mario's former teammate at Borussia Dortmund and injured national team member Marco Reus.

The Dortmund star suffered a partial tear of his left ankle ligament during a friendly game against Armenia prior to the World Cup. Gotze and Reus are great friends and Mario displayed his support for his friend by carrying Marco Reus' \"21\" jersey around the Estadio Maracanã during the celebration.

Classy move by Mario Gotze to honor his friend, teammate, and someone who surely would have had a solid World Cup for Die Mannschaft if healthy.

Congrats once again to Germany on winning their fourth World Cup title.

If you thought from 80s German was good, you will be interested to know that in the 20-30 yr before that, West Germany and then Germany was an ever-present to at least the quarter- or semi-finals in all the major tournaments -- World Cup and Euro Championship… I thought they had black magic :evil:

It was only in 1994 onwards, that the German team plunged badly… but in the last few years they came back quite strongly, both country and club.
