I think the teenagers would appreciate those that have been made into movies best. 😂 Like Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo diCaprio. Easier to digest just by watching movie.

If I am not wrong, usually there is only one Shakespeare for each O level exam.

I did Lord of the Flies and Empire of the Sun. Enjoyed lit. Had a wonderful lit teacher. Lit wasn't compulsory for my school, but it provided a good balance for my triple science combi 😉

Don't know about difficulty, but Merchant is much, much more interesting! I studied Julius Caesar for my O levels and found it very boring. Then I had to study Coriolanus for A levels - another Roman play which I can't remember much about now. Really? We were certainly not very informed at that time. The subject combi was limited then, so it was not like we could choose.
