Is looming an expensive hobby?

I guess depends on how many colours or how many bands you want to buy πŸ˜‰

I have seen a basic pack of 500-600 bands (same colour) costs about $2-4, while the full pack with 4-6 different coloured bands and some basic loom equipment can be $8-10. You can find find them in Popular, Toys R Us and even \" ζ–°ε€©εœ°\" in United Square. I think you can get a very comprehensive set online for abt $15-20.

I haven't bought any for my kids yet (yes, even my DS is crazy about it) but they had received them for birthday presents. The basic structure are bracelets (simple and complex ones) but I have seen some very creative structures like bears, fruits, veggies, cartoon characters etc. Last night, my dd showed me someone from her school made taekwondo kids! Very nice! πŸ˜„

Not all places stock the original Rainbow Loom. The more complex design, especially those that calls for double band, needs good quality rubber bands. Else, it breaks easily due to stretching over numerous layers.

The glow-in-the-dark bands are nice.

My K2 dd is busy looming Teachers' Day pressies πŸ˜„
