The intensity of the pain varies according to the severity of the condition. It can affect one arm or both arms at the same time. It is better to seek treatment early before the pain becomes unbearable. Physiotherapy helps a lot but you must continue to do the exercises yourself at home faithfully. For me, I am kiasu so I use a multi-pronged approach in my treatment: I consult a chiropractor, a physiotherapist and TCM physician. Took me about 9 months to regain 90% of my arm function.

How to slow down the aging process? If I know the answer I will be rich. Jokes aside, After a few health scares in the last few years including tinnitus and hearing loss, the best way to deal with it is ACCEPTANCE. Some people deny they have hearing loss and refuse to seek treatment. I have no qualms telling my friends and my adult students of my condition to seek their understanding. Nothing shameful, our senses deteriorate as we age. This is part of aging, unless one abuses it by listening to loud music every day resulting in the hearing loss.

One thing positive is that when hubby nags, I can't hear and if he dares to tell me, \"why? These blood tests measure your levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), proteins made by the brain that stimulate ovulation. If your ovaries are beyond menopause, they no longer respond to FSH and LH, and your brain reacts by sending out even more of these hormones. Blood tests indicating high levels of FSH and LH show your doctors your menopausal status.

Persistent elevated levels of FSH (13–90 milli-international units per milliliter) and LH (15–50 mIU/mL) are consistent with a post-menopausal state. Normal levels of estrogen before menopause peak at 150–300 picograms per milliliter each month (depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle), falling to less than 20 pg/mL after ovarian function declines. In pre- or peri-menopausal women taking tamoxifen, estrogen levels can be significantly increased above normal.\"

a KKH staff who did the pelvic ultrasound scan for me shared with me that I can go for a blood test to measure the levels of estrogen to determine whether I am experiencing menopause.

Jennifer

Reply to Menopause Symptoms Management on Fri, 09 Jan 2015 13:08:15 GMT

janet88:
i'm concerned about the depression zbear mentioned.

my menses are shorter now...about 4 days compared to 6 days in the past...first 2 days heavy with cramps.

Hmm...
