From my past observations, my kids treat Elearning like a week off and plays around until the last 3 days where they rush their work.

When it comes to optimal use of time, elearning makes it all worth it. A right balance between the 2 would be best for kids.

What do you think about it? Do you face any problems?
It largely depends on how interactive is the e-learning system.

Many e-learning system is more like video watching.

A properly designed e-learning system would incorporate quiz and other hands-on and with web-based collaborative tools and that will highly engage the students.

The working will be sent to the teacher and they would be able to comment on it.

What age kids? I think sec school age kids may benefit, but pr school kids would probably be too young to do it unsupervised. Not that they won't know how to operate the systems, but they are more likely to get distracted, waste time of other things etc.

There are different types of elearning, and I would be concerned if too many game-like ones are used. Also, some subjects, like Maths, really need to be worked out on paper even if the instruction is given electronically.

I would be more concerned for those who are not able to afford it, especially if teachers work on the assumption that everyone has a fast, new notebook with all the bells and whistles. So overall, I would support elearning only if all students have good access, eg. in school, or there is sufficient help for those who are not able to afford it.

Students can do it at their own pace.

The problem comes when it is difficult to draw dotted lines or write on the diagram without printing it out.

For questions like solving equations, E-learning would be more suitable.

So I need to rush home in order for kids to complete their assignments on my laptop which is a wintel machine or arrange to stay home for that day.


The kids of course love e-learning. Most of the time whatever needs to be done can be completed within the hour or lesser. Thereafter it is a holiday for them.

I see my friends complaining on FB, but I think their children are in primary school.
Depends on what is the complaint. Think the writer wrote about the website not tablet friendly as tab donch support flash or something like that. Also, some work requires voice recording and not everyone has a mic at home.

That's what I'm saying. I hardly see my boy having such lessons... if at all. He is in VS.
