If he’s failing in two particular subjects instead of many at a time, it could be that he does not understand why he should be studying or learning about these two and therefore finds himself constantly drifting off thinking about other things which are more important and interesting to him. <br /><br /><br />I would suggest:<br />1. make sure the issues he’s thinking about are answered.<br />2.help him to find out why he is sent to learn the two subjects, and encourage in him the belief that he will be able to master them and catch up if he pays attention in class.<br /><br />Sometimes a student can slip in progress and feel demoralized to continue, this is when encouragement and belief is important</p>
