Will reading non-fiction help to develop the writing skills for Humanities?

Many thanks in advance.[/quote]Hi Jennifer! This is a little late, but for Humanities the trick is to flesh out your ideas step-by-step. The easiest way to improve is simply through lots of practice, but doing essay outlines/plans may help. It allows your son to methodically delineate his argument, and it is also easier to stop the gaps in his writing through that (i.e. sometimes certain sub-points are skipped, which causes essay to fall apart despite it seemingly following a PEEL structure). Often a clear, succinct piece is what teachers/examiners are looking for!

Non-fiction reading may help substantiating his knowledge, but does not necessarily strengthen writing at the secondary school level.

I am selling some materials I personally used for my studies (listed in the post above). Let me know if you are interested. All the best to your son!

sc_gal

Reply to Assessment books for IP (Year 1-4) on Thu, 11 Dec 2014 06:32:34 GMT

Hello!

I'm selling the following O level resources which are highly-relevant for IP as well.

A) Maths
1.
