<![CDATA[Transfer school]]>Hello ! my PSLE score is 227 but this year sec 1EOY i scored 6A1s out of 9 subjects . i do not like my current school as the students are not keen on learning , the school facilities or the school compound in general is not good and the upper sec are not a good influence to the juniors and thus , i wish to transfer out.Could anyone give me an idea on what COP of a school is my max and what should the schools im appealing to be and also pls give me tips on writing an appeal form that is reasonable for me to have a chance at transfering out . I hope to transfer to CCHM , AHS , VS O level , is it too ambitious to transfer to those schools? Pls give me advise and tips . All help is greatly appreciated . Thanks.!!! :?: 😄

It may be that schools do not have the authority to make exceptions. If you make your case to MOE, they may be able to make an exception and help you arrange something.

I feel that your case should be treated as special. Perhaps if you go to MOE about making this an exception to the rule, with documentation, they may allow it and then help you find a school? The no appeal rule was to deal with those who did not meet the appealed school's COP. I think you can argue that your daughter's case should not be covered by this rule, especially if you feel that it is affecting her emotional stability.

Mummy also mentioned the boy is smart and from certain background? School condones because of these reasons?

I agree if the school does not wish to take action and there seems no way out for now (no vacancy at other schools, no transfer to other classes allowed, etc.), going to MOE is the next course of action but if there is still no help, filing a record with the police may just make sure the school sits up and notice this case.

Under \"Protection from Harassment\" act, the family indeed could file this as a record.
Btw, i did not say the boy is a criminal.

I don't think the police are the right authority as there is no crime commited here. If there is a need to go higher than the principal, then it should go to MOE.

Some schools have so many parents raise issues that they get into the habit of taking them so seriously? Anyway, another suggestion, perhaps you can help your daughter keep a record of every incident involving this boy, and then you can show it to the VP to show the frequency and severity?

Maybe give your dd more time to settle into the school.

When you mentioned that some other boys are also upset with this school bully and feel like giving this bully a punch in the face, I get a feeling that this school bully will get his \"punishment\" soon.

In the meantime, your dd ought to learn to ignore the school bully's use of language. No doubt a nasty culture shock, it is sometimes inevitable to learn to accept and work around it.

In her class there are lots of bullies, a boy speaks Cantonese, Hokkien vulgar words on her in a daily basis. We have highlighted to her form teacher but of no use. No doubt she has 10 years in this SAP school so called but she gave me the impression that she wants the matter to rest and telling my girl not to be so sensitive.

My girl of course is very hurt and sad that she has to be stuck for a year before we can transfer her out of this HELL SAP school. It's a everyday thing she has to face.

Is there any way I can help her? Seeing her cry makes me cry too!

Sometimes people have no time to write long posts so don't jump to conclusion. Leaving one liner helps you to probe your issue. Why are you having to do so much when the boy just gets away with his antics? Even if you decide to transfer, the boy has to be disciplined by the school if he is such a terror.
Principal rarely walks around school during times when students are about though...

Btw, I only said that to make you guys feel better gosh. Unless the boy changes, you almost HAVE to bear with it for at least 1 year. Anyways, another good way is to just avoid him. Unless he for some reason(school just started, not very possible) hates your kid, he probably won't just go after your kid.

But if there is no such constraints, then pursue with the school…sec 1 is still good to make changes.

It sounds as if you've tried all the more low-key possibilities. I can't remember if you said, but has anyone from the school spoken to the boy's parents? If the school is unwilling to do anything to help, you may have to ask to speak to the boy's parents yourself, or escalate it as a formal complaint to MOE.

That might save you a some calling around. In the meanwhile, what about changing class? Or if your daughter can give the boy a good scolding (when the teacher is not within earshot), that might work.
