I have personally tried 1, 2, 4 and 7 and I like all of them. After trying them I don’t feel like eating those bak kut teh from normal foodcourt or coffee shop. These folks are synonymous with the blessings of bak kut teh.<br /><br />2. Rong Chen Bak Kut Teh<br />Blk 22 Sin Ming Road, Eng Hup Ho Hup Coffeshop<br />The boss of many "disciplines" that hv ventured on their own. His pig trotters (ter ka) is dangerously addictive. Remember to order the kungfu tea set to complete the meal.<br /><br />3. Joo Siah Bak Kut Teh<br />Blk 347 Jurong East Ave 1 #01-220/221<br />Cook learnt his craft from relatives at Rong Chen 20 years ago. <br /><br />4. Founder Rou Gu Cha Cafeteria<br />347 Balestier Road<br />Very spicy and peppery with little herbal taste.<br /><br />5. Ah Peng Bak Kut Teh<br />3 Seng Poh Road, Soon Soon Huat Eating House<br />Good teochew style. Ter ka so so only. <br /><br />6. Leong (Klang) Bak Kut Teh<br />269 Geylang Road, Cheng Cheng Eating House<br />A robust KL dark herbal version. Sell offals and mutton versions too.<br /><br />7. Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha<br />7 Keppel Road #01-05/07 PSA Tanjong Pagar Complex<br />From the famous old Outram Park blocks. Very crowded on weekends. The ladies are from a family of bak kut teh specialists.</p>

The owner also sells kway chap and other pig innard dishes, which are equally delicious.<br /><br />Opens: 7am-9.30pm daily. Closed on alternate Thursdays.<br /><br />Price: $3.50. She learnt her basics in Kuala Lumpur, and uses premium pork rib. She does not use MSG.<br /><br />Opens: 8am-6.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays. 8am-4pm on Sundays and public holidays<br /><br />Price: $4/5/6. Additional $0.50 for rice. The son of the original owner runs this stall today, and believes there's no \"secret recipe\". I loved their soup and best of all, they kept coming to top it up. <br /><br />And if you are lucky, you may spot some celebrities.<p></p></blockquote>The service at Ya Hua is much better than Ng Ah Sio, where the hot soup is happily top up by their staff.<br /><br />However, do be careful of overcharging at Ya Hua. Faces the car park at the back.  The one in the kopitiam in Blk 123 or 122 Yishun St 11 is nice too.</p>
